We’re delighted to share that Seabirds-and-Seals – The Original Noss Boat has been named a finalist in five categories at The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards 2026, in association with Business Gateway.
As a husband-and-wife team running our family business in Shetland, this recognition means so much to us. It reflects the care we put into welcoming our guests, supporting our community and sharing the wildlife and scenery of Bressay and Noss.
Our five finalist categories are:
Each category recognises a different part of our business, from creating memorable experiences for visitors to building relationships with local organisations, suppliers and collaborators. To be recognised across all five is something we’re incredibly proud of.
This announcement follows our Best Visitor Attraction win at the Highlands & Islands Thistle Awards 2026. Having also won in 2023, we’re thrilled to receive the award again and progress to the Scottish Thistle Awards national final.
In early September, we were also announced as finalists for Purpose-Led Business of the Year at the Women’s Enterprise Scotland Awards 2026.
Together, these achievements give us plenty to celebrate as we look back on another busy season aboard The Noss Boat.
Behind every tour is a team effort. We’re hugely grateful to our fantastic crew for the care, enthusiasm and hard work they bring to welcoming our guests and making every trip special.
To everyone who has joined us aboard The Noss Boat, whether you live here in Shetland or have travelled from across the world, thank you for choosing to spend part of your time with us.
Our thanks also go to our collaborators, suppliers and partners locally and worldwide, and to everyone who supports, recommends and shares our business. Every booking, kind review and personal recommendation helps our family business grow. You’re all part of this success.
Congratulations to our fellow finalists. We look forward to celebrating together at the awards ceremony at voco Grand Central Glasgow on Thursday 19 November 2026.
